The Gel Cell battery is similar to the AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) battery in that its contents are sealed, but different because technically the AGM battery is still considered to be a wet cell. The guts of a Gel Cell contain a silica additive that causes it to set up or stiffen, first like Jell-O, then after subsequent discharge/charge cycles more like peanut brittle. Micro-cracks form in this gelled electrolyte that provide paths for the oxygen recombination reactions between the positive and negative plates. The recharge voltages on this type of cell are lower than the other styles of lead acid battery making it probably the most sensitive cell in terms of adverse reactions to over-voltage charging, and thus needing special care.
Powered by BTP microprocessor technology and utilizing a 4-step charging program (initialization, bulk charge, absorption mode and float mode), the Battery Tender Plus 12-volt/1.25-amp Battery Charger allows you to simply connect the charger to a battery, either in or out of a vehicle, and forget about it until you are ready to put the battery to work. Like all Battery Tender chargers, at the end of the regular charger cycle it automatically switches its output voltage to a safe, storage or float level which eliminates the need to worry about the damaging effects of overcharging, and the resulting need to check on the condition of the battery. This item performs very well. The desufating feature has cured some batteries for me that would have otherwise been junk. I would recommend getting one of these. It’s well worth the save of expensive batteries. Unit keeps a constant charge level without over charging.

This is the level where I learned to fly earlier this spring and have since built more than two pups with improved electronics and ailerons. My wife has also learned to fly their model with the Super Cub DX6i Buddy Box system and is now ready to reach the latter stages of the flight … Takeoffs and landings! This tutorial is to add a 3 cell LiPo battery inventory The CubDoctrine, with the floor (it came to his yellow Piper Super Cub in the Annex). In the next tutorial to build a Super Cub from earth to be with all the mods, and shows how the configuration DX6i as buddy-box system.

When I purchased this product, the packaging called it a “Water Heater Tester” leading me to believe it was more than a simple continuity tester which a homeowner, handyman or electrician uses to determine if the wire is continuous (not broken) between the clip tip and pinpoint tip on the body of the tool. You can use a standard continuity tester to test the continuity of a water heater element just as easily/well as with using this product.
